Fly Dubai - Launch
This show was delivered by a partnership between Clean Edge and Almoe AV Productions. Almoe provided all of the equipment and crew, and contracted in Clean Edge to design and manage the event.
The challenge was to transform an aircraft hanger into a theatre. We revealed a Boeing 737, then the hangar doors opened into daylight and the plane was towed out and made its inaugural flight before an audience watching live on 2 video screens.
Pre reveal: The aircraft is visible, but backlit with low-level lighting, it’s new livery hidden behind translucent fabric.
The reveal: There’s a 2 minute light show then the fabrics are released by kabuki solenoids and the video screens fly out flat to the ceiling.
As the plane leaves the hangar and the room is re set by a second kabuki drop. The audience watches as the aircraft taxies and departs Dubai airport for the first time.
